graham...yes. CRNAs get that in anesthesia school. As far as having a list of drugs, one does tend to use what ACLS, ATLS, etc. recommend in a given situation. Even a doctor would be hard pressed to explain using one drug when another drug is the drug of choice. (IE: Ethrane is still out there, but who would use it?) Add to that the old saying (Joke?) Anesthesia is 90% boredom broken up by 10% panic. Except it seems to me that if you know what you are doing, it is more like 99% and 1%. I think if my fellow CRNAs would spend as much time trying to improve anesthesia as they did trying to fence out AAs and protect their jobs, the whole world of anesthesia would be a lot better and a whole lot more fun.
