I know you don't like to deal in reality, but the reality is that there is a shortage of anesthesia providers nationwide. That shortage will only get worse, providing plenty of opportunities for both AA's and CRNA's. And here, let me cut you off before you even say it - if there isn't a shortage, then there's no need to produce more CRNA's than are already in the educational process. And what's really going to be fun to watch is more CRNA schools closing as the DNP or DNAP comes around. Just like hospital CRNA programs couldn't survive because they couldn't offer a master's degree, many current nursing school CRNA programs won't survive, because they don't have the capability to offer a doctorate degree. And remember - you can't even offer a doctorate degree unless you have doctorate prepared faculty, and they're few and far between in nursing.
