It always irritates the crap out of me when someone who isn't in a profession feels that they have enough knowledge to criticize that profession and speak with any sort of authority because they're "experienced" in some other field.
I don't like the fact that surgical assistants often do the work that they do often without a degree, formal training, or any sort of licensing. Should surgical assistants (often just surgical technologists with a couple years of experience) actually be suturing, cutting tissue, placing laparoscopic trocars and other invasive procedures? All the requirements for PA licensing and training, or the RNFA battles all over the country, and a surgical tech can do it all? Hmmmmm
NeuroQueen - you should keep this opinion to yourself until well after the time you graduate. Those who come into the program thinking they already know everything universally do poorly in clinicals, as opposed to those who come in knowing little and want to learn everything they can.
