As stated, I don't know where you work but I am a surgical assistant.... meaning I have a degree to first assist with the surgeon. FA! Not that being a surgical technologist is bad because I was a surg tech first... but, again, I have alot of patient care experience. Thank You! As far as people having health care background, this is true you will find many people who do not know how to empathize, and I am sorry for your loss, that must have been hard, but that doesn't change the fact that having health care experience should be a preferred requirement...If PA programs have it, so should AA. Look you can argue with me all you want, but when it comes down to it, you know I am right no matter how you want to roll the dice.... And my comments aren't to say that anyone who doesn't have health care experience is bad at being an AA....since that is the way that you are taking it... but if the shoe fits?.... All I am saying is to make the standard for AA like the standards for other masters degree programs in the health care field, have health care experience....End point!! And J, please don't talk about what you don't know about!!
