My tutor is Belgian but teaching to a more formal French metric - but we did cover both versions of the numbers. For example, they say septante instead of soixante-dix, and nonante instead of quatre-vignt-dix. They still say quatre-vignt in Belgium for 80, but in Switzerland they say huitante, so they win at making it as sensible as possible. I believe the Canadians are in line with the Belgians on this one, and pretty much only the France-French like to make it all about maths.

My French is still pretty limited I think... but I am hoping to make as much progress as possible before May...
