But I will try harder.
I'm happy you had a good time in the States, Ash. It's funny that you ran into a bunch of Norwegian-descendants! I always hear about Europeans who roll their eyes because Americans call themselves "Irish" or "Dutch" (or whatever) when they've been in the USA for generations. But we are all about our roots, which I think is a good thing!
Anyway, this year has started pretty crappy for me, and for a bunch of other people I know. It's not just the political situation -- which is sucky beyond belief and many I know can't even bear thinking about it. But lots of personal problems too (not just for me, but lots of people close to me).
I had my computer crash on me, so lost all my writing and photos and important data. I have a list of stuff I need to complete, including settling the estate I talked about last time (yes, I do need to file probate, and now need to find a lawyer in NM). I'm trying to take care of things bit by bit but am finding it pretty overwhelming much of the time. *sigh*
On the good side, though -- Mil and I had a FABULOUS trip to China. Saw pandas and Avatar mountains and ate a lot of amazing food. I'm going to visit Mil next month, and it will be great to see her. Then we'll have another family trip to Alaska in the summer....should be fun.
As far as activities go, I'm trying to practice the didgeridoo again, and am auditing a MOMA course called "Art Practices for Well-Being." Hopefully it will spark some creativity.
