Hello, I have enjoyed reading your updates. I laughed when Alyx said she had no quirks! 😅😂 Here's mine: Life: I work primarily from home doing budgets for grant based research. I've been in the job just over 2 years and it's still going well. I am highly involved in folk music and dance, and have been re-elected for the third year in a row as the overall leader of one of my performance groups, which is headed by an elected committee. However, I only plan to do one more year in this particular role! I have recently been doing an entry level qualification in building and construction - but on a hobby basis! I started learning wood working skills with a friend (and made a few paddles!) and am now on a carpentry course. Love: Not much to say here. I went through a phase of attending a lot of BDSM and spanko events, but I struggle to find people I feel compatible with and who feels the same way about me. I have recently been in a bit of a phase of feeling like I'll never find anyone who gets me in this way. But yknow, who knows. Travel: I've recently come back from 7 days in Bosnia and Herzegovina (and a little bit of time in Croatia and Montenegro) where I ate a lot of wonderful food, drank a lot of wine, and learned a lot of language (just vocab, no grammar). I can totally order ice-cream in Bosnian though! It was a really interesting and fun trip. Next week I'm going to be in Copenhagen! And I have some more trips planned for next year. Some of you know I'm a dual US national and I've been in the states at least once a year for the last 3 running (ie since restrictions allowed it). I'm pushing hard with my French at the moment, to try and get actually conversational. I've begun watching Netflix primarily in French, and am hoping soon to attend a language cafe and practice speaking to people. I like to complete parkruns around the UK - parkrun is a free, timed 5k run on a Saturday morning and there are venues all over the UK and on fact across many other countries. I have completed parkrun in around 80 different venues, including 2 in the US, one in the Netherlands, and one in Austria so far. |
