Hello Grey, To have a new wood fore end built from scratch that is correct for this very fine L C Smith will cost between $750.00 to $950.00 USD. You will also need a replacement fore end iron to fit to this very nice L C Smith. No telling what that might cost but I would guess between $75.00 to $150.00 USD. As Tom pointed out, if you watch ebay closely you might find a nice fore end with the iron for sale. You might consider buying a complete, or mostly complete, wrecked L C Smith just to get the fore end. Once you have a decent fore end, iron and wood, that is close to fitting your nice PE7078 LCS then you can have one of the gunsmiths mentioned here convert whatever fore end you have found to be a PE fore end. You should expect to have problems with the Hunter One Trigger on your PE L C Smith. Be very careful about who you let work on that trigger ! HOTs can get very expensive very quick ! As Tom Archer said, you have a great gun that just needs a little tender loving care by a professional. From your pictures it appears that the barrels have been reblued. Do the barrels appear to have been reblued when you look at the gun yourself in natural sunlight ??? From your pictures of the muzzles of your barrels I do not see any dimples in the top rib or the bottom rib. When you are looking at this PE7078 in person can you see any evidence of dimples having been in the top and bottom ribs ??? Exactly how long are the barrels of PE7078 now ?? jentpmitchell@msn.com Good Shooting To You, Jent
