Tom, Thanks for your knowledge. You are absolutely correct on different forend wood. I just held the forend next to the french walnut stock and it is obvious it is not the same wood. The forend wood is a lighter color similar to the American black walnut on my Sterlingworth. BTW, this was a low-priced consignment gun which I bought for the same as I paid for my Sterlingworth. So I'm not upset with my LGS.
