Thank you Mr. Murphy- I am new to all this "threads" business. I try to go back to what I have posted, and sometimes my computer won't get me to the original post-perhaps one has to wait for someone to post a reply. I am writing to Chris Baumohl about my new membership, and the research letter I ordered for the 2E 12 sn. 315816, and I plan to ask him for advice as to how that functions herein.
I also plan to ask some protocol questions, and as I recently replied to the September 2008 newsletter which Chris was most kind to send my way, I also wrote to Mr. Andy Anderson, as he is doing research project on 2E engraving variations. That is why I, apparently in error, thought my reply about this Syracuse 12 Grade 2E might be "apropos" in this thread. If I am in error, please accept my apology.
There certainly is a great wealth of information on this site about the Smith guns. I wished I lived closer to some of the "reunions" that are being held. I
am also, in spite of the cautions I read about E-Bay and Pay-Pal, going to look at the 1907 L.C. Smith Catalog offered therein, at I believe $475. Should I purchase same, I will send it to Chris and have it reproduced so that copies can be sent to any interested members. I need to know, however, for that amount of money, that it is an original, and not a reproduction. Have you ever dealt with this party trying to sell this item? If so, your feedback as a member of the LCSCA would be most valued.
