Re: Toyko Music Awards
I was Mr. Banjo during my tenure with the Bros4. The lineage of banjo players in the group starts with Mike Kirkland. Pearson replaced Kirkland and inherited the banjo role. I, in turn, took on that mantle when I replaced Pearson. When Mark stood in for John Paine on that one tour he played guitar. I can't remember if he ever played banjo or if we ever played any banjo duets. It's common knowledge, but I'll mention it again, that Mark and I had the same banjo teacher as kids in Spokane. We both started on and continue to play plectrum-style banjo and we were both in Dutch Groshoff's Banjo Band as 10-year-old ankle-biters. After that we never saw each other for over a decade. How we both ended up joining the Bros4 is one of life's amazing coincidences.
