Oh, man, the Vega #2 is sweet. I'll bet that Tubaphone tone ring sounds great. Don't forget that's the same tone ring used in the Vega longnecks and it's what gives those Vegas their distinctive sound. I wouldn't be surprised if your first Vega had the same tone ring. That tone ring works as well with plectrums and tenors as with five-strings. Vega started using the Tubaphone tone ring before World War I. Bob, Ode was Chuck's original company, but he sold it to Baldwin in 1966. When he decided to get back into the banjo business a few years later, he used Ome as his brand name.
