"I love these kind of comments. Perhaps you should have checked with the board before you conceived. LOL! Geez lady, would it be much different if you had a kid at Coolidge and Prather or Maryville and Grigsby? What's ridiculous is parents who feel they should be catered to."
You say this now, only because all of your precious little Opi Juniors are grown and have little Opi's of their own and apparently not in our school district.
Back in your day, if the school district would have tried to pull this bullsh*t of shuffling and busing all the kids of district to the four corners of this town, all at different times without much rhyme or reason other than they just chose to do so to save a few more bucks to be able to better afford more raises for the administrators, you would have more than a mouthful to say about it.
I would bet just about anything (and I laugh just thinking about your reaction) that back in the day what your reaction would have been if they decided that all your precious Opi juniors were going to be yanked out of the school they had grown use to and in the beginning of their new school year be bused to a school no where close to your own neighborhood and made to attend the all to famous Marshall? Yeah, the school that sat within walking distance of the old KP, yeah that one, the one that almost every low income child in this town attended? That very one that fought the never ending battle of head lice, and that most parents from all the other schools cringed at just the thought of.
Why is it such an absurd idea that parents would purchase a house partly based on the school that the children of that neighborhood were expected to attend? I don't think that is unreasonable at all.
