What we did not figure on was, our kids being bused completely out of the neighborhood they live in, to be bused across town to attend a school for a year or two and then the next year to be bused across town in another direction and part of town to attend an entirely different school for a another year or two.
I wanted to make one more reply to this. If you're from that era your children may have been in school when the district shut down several schools. Nameoki at that time was considered a premiere school. When it closed some of the kids ended up at Mitchell, some at Prather and some at Frohardt. Teachers were laid off, families had to move, etc.... WE ALL SURVIVED IT. THIS IS NOT THE END OF LIFE AS WE KNOW IT. IT'S MOVING YOUR KID A FEW BLOCKS ACCROSS TOWN.
