You have got to work for a crna school don't you? Studies say blah blah blah, there are no real double blind studies to your view or the asa's view since anesthesia has been an evolving practice of MEDICINE and when a study is completed, it's obsolete or guided to the investigators desire. Nurses have been doing anesthesia for 75 years...50 years ago, anesthesia consisted of taking vitial signs and holding and oxygen mask on a pt. As technology improved the Doctors realized the importance of thier expertice and became anesthesiologists, you are just pissed off that you didn't go to med school when you were young enough to do it. The facts are, AA's have been around for over 30 years. We do all the exact same cases and procedures that CRNA's do and there are no case studies or facts saying that AA's do the job any less skillfully as a Nurse with a masters. Now your schools are promoting CRNA's to get a doctorate degree so you can call yourselves doctors of nursing. Give me a break, an environmental engineer is still just a janitor.
