They voted for a Texas born hispanic and recoiled at Abbott and Trump's border/ICE activity. He lost suburban whites. He lost ground with rural whites. What I think happened is that MAGA folks haven't been able to admit that Trump is incredibly unpopular outside of that group and him sucking up all the air in the room had absolutely attrocious down ballot implications.
