That was why he went from the Magic to the Lakers - to be closer to Hollywood and the tv/commercial production industry.

Those of us of a certain age will remember Shaq-fu, Shazam, Blue Chips and any number of other projects he did in the 90s.

Heck, the dude is pulling 8 figs per year just off NBA Tonight.

I mean, I guess the counterpoint is to ask how many other players ten years (or more) after retirement can collect that CarMax or Icy Hot money... still: hope he's doing it cause he wants to.

PS: I looked it up: yeah, he's doing because he wants to. Literally a half-billionaire per Wiki. Credited with some astute stock picks over the years. Same thing for Magic Johnson I guess. Something about those LA Lakers....
