I have a similar gun but a 2E finished in 1905. Originally it had 32" damascus barrels and returned to Hunter Arms in 1935 fitted with 32" ventilated rib barrels. The photos in this thread of the 3E of the barrels are identical to mine. No type of steel is engraved / stamped on near the breach. The forend metal escutcheon and wood checking lines per inch is identical to mine also. Most likely sent back to be fitted at Hunter Arms in the mid 30's. Frank
