Doug, it is an interesting gun. The one thing that stands out to me is that there is no makers name on the barrels and no stamping as to type of steel. The original barrels should have been Crown Steel but if new ones were made, I don't know what steel would have been used then. Also, even though the for-end spells 1930's the barrels do not as by now they should have Nitro proofing on them. I'm wondering if the original barrels were sent back for the ventilated rib and the re-enforced loop and why no barrel steel stamp. Is that brazing on the for-end and on the kicker tips? I don't think the kickers would hold up brazed. As to the recoil pad, if still flexible, I would see if it can be re-conditioned. This gun was special ordered and right now what is the length of pull to the end of the recoil pad? Interesting gun.
