Well, it's been quite some time and there are some updates about this guns configuration. I ordered my Cody letters and also asked to obtain copies of the ledger my gun was listed in. This should answer most of the questions raised when I first found and purchased this gun, per all the other posts, particularly the forend and the 3" chambers.

My Eagle Grade came back as follows pertaining to configuration:

Regular Frame, Auto Ejectors, Selective One Trigger, Long Range Wild Fowl.

That is what is listed on my official Cody letter. When I viewed the actual ledger where this information was derived from, I noticed something I thought was very interesting. In the Ledger under the "TYPE" column, my gun is listed as follows:

    RE OT LR

    The R for Regular Frame
    The E for Ejectors
The O for Selective one trigger
    The T for ???
The LR for Long range wild fowl

Now you see my question. The "T" which I thought stood for Double barrel trap gun is for sure in the ledger. I inquired to Cody and was told OT stood for ONE TRIGGER. I disagree, but I am no expert. I think the T stands for Double Barrel Trap gun. Here is the copy of the ledger, my gun is #16 in the Serial # column:

To examine this further, I compared letters of my Crown Grade and the Eagle Grade. The Crown grade has a selective One trigger and so I looked at the copy of the ledger I got with that letter. It is listed as such:

REOBV= Regular Frame, Ejectors, Selective One trigger, Beavertail forend, Ventilated Rib. The official letter denotes all of this as well. Here is a copy of the Crown Grade ledger, my gun is #96 in the serial # column:

So my question is why on the Crown Grade does the "O" stand for Selective One trigger, while on the Eagle Grade the OT stands for One trigger? I think, and this is in no way any negative statement towards any of the fine staff at Cody, a simply error has occurred. I may be wrong, but thought I would ask the professionals here. I included pictures so that you could see what I am seeing. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Per the book, "The Legend Lives" the "T" in the type column designates Double Barrel trap gun and that in other areas of the book, those trap guns were generally 10-15% higher in cost due to better wood, etc...also with the Trap package, a "special" Beavertail forend was supplied.

I have sent another inquiry in to Cody showing the two ledgers and asking about the difference in the two. I will let you know the results of that when I hear back from them. Until then...what say ye?
