Well who am I to say the "Chambers 3 Inches" stamp was not duplicated and thus used aftermarket by a whole host of gunsmiths; but then if those chambers were indeed lengthened aftermarket, wouldn't one then naturally assume that such new stamping would obliterate all blue within those new lettering cuts rendering those cut areas "bright"? Although the photo quality in this example isn't to magazine standard, it sure appears to show evidence of old bluing within those cuts/stampings which would certainly be consistent with the Hunter barrel production process of stamping barrels prior to rust bluing; and indicate, to me anyway as the blue on this set of barrels appears original, that this 3" stamp was done at the gunworks. But I could be totally wrong here as you seem to know whereof you speak.
