The "trap package" was a term referenced in Smith catalogs; and although I don't have time to look up the exact quote at the moment (but someone else will), it referenced certain options normally found/ordered on competition Smith guns. Since Hunter had long offered (prior to the 20s when trap shooting becoming so popular) a "Trap Grade" in the model line (that is, by the way, most often seen in a "Field" configuration), I believe they coined this phrase to let confused shooters know that trap gun options could be ordered on any grade.
