I had an L. C. Smith's chambers lengthened to 3 inches and had an exact (compared to factory originals) stamping placed on the flats. That stamp has been around for years. The serial number of this gun is such that under "type" in the ledger there should be an "L", a "B", or in the pre vent-rib era a"T". The quality of the factory letters varies dramatically based on who did the legwork. I sent for a letter twice on the same gun and got two different letters for the same serial number. If the letter matches the gun then it's great. If not - you'll never know.
