Thank you so much for your imput! I really enjoy this part of L.C. Smith history! My point is that Krupp, as they were developing "Big Bertia", was continueing to market their products internationally. Between the 1907 introduction of the 20 guage L.C. Smith (plus the period of development.) and April 6, 1917 when the U.S. entered into WWI, Krupp may have sent sample barrells/tubes to be evaluated by Hunter Arms. Those barrells/tubes may have not have been released on guns until after war issues were resolved. (Just an idea.) I hope you do not feel my debate is negative. (I am sure my ideas could be unfounded) My Krupp barrells are much lighter than the same guage nitro barrells I have on similar grade L.C. Smiths. My samples are of one small collector. Do you know of other weight samples? Again, thank you for all your input and I really enjoy reading The Double Gun and Singled Shot Journal. We all have a lot of optinions, but "History" will keep tradition alive!

    Happy Holidays to all!
