    Right again! It was the gun that Russ once owned. I had fun exploring it's background with Russ. Russ was a great teacher of L.C. Smith history. If I were to guess, I think the barrells where part of the inventory of Hunter Arms(L.C. Smith) prior to the U.S. involvement in "The War". Not much demand for 32 inch 20 guage barrells. (Who knows, but I do think they were orginal to the gun.) I traded the gun on a 410 Field grade about a year ago. I also think the U.S. pending war involvement effected the use of Krupp barrells on L.C. Smith high grade shotguns. Krupp was no longer providing barrells and the demand was going down due to the pending war involvement by the U.S. Could be the reason they started using the barrells on lower grade guns. All I know is that my 1904, 5-E Bird Gun has the lightest, best handling (Krupp)barrells I have ever experienced.
