Audacy is in such deep dark waters, they are drowning. I am surprised they have not moved The Score to 104.3 as it can be profitable w/o the AM selling it off later on. But, the B96 shift is a dud so far and shows no sign of life. It is obvious both 104.3 and B96 are the same demo, they are hoping to share listeners and not go to iHeart or Hubbard. Not sure how long this can last when on paper, killing off one of the AMs will translate in massive savings for salaries, bennies, daily cost of business, etc
Regardless, at some point, I have said it before and others have pushed back, Audacy is looking to get out of the AM station gigs, too costly for the land (they are already selling a lot of land and duplexing some AMs, others they are just handing in the licenses), upkeep and long term AM is dying. The end game is to go all IP and shutter the FM signals too.
