CBS was burning to move the NEWS format to FM, as a lot of stone buildings downtown can't receive he AM. Also, a lot of downtown workers are behind a VPN or are blocked to listen to media streams while at work. (LOT more common than you might think not). John you are correct, the Merlin Monstrosity did escalate the urgency, as they thought 101.1 had more potential. End of day, CBS saved a ton in expenses and gained a lot more in ratings and revenue simulcasting. Z |
