WJPC-AM 950, was a HIP younger leaning Urban, even more CHR in formatics than WBMX. The jocks were funny, fast talking, the hits were younger. Didn't shy away from Dance hits and they were all over GrandMaster Flash, which a lot of Urban stations were not spinning due to being edgy rap. WJPC had slick production, smoking top hour ID's. But, AM was dying and they faded away. I have *never* run across an air check of them in the 80s.
WJLB was a great sounding station in the late 80's. Mixes during lunch, drive time, weekends. WHYT past their "Hot Hits" days spiked a lot of Urban songs as "Power 96", to counteract WDFX "99.5 The FOX" being Rock 40 and WCZY Z95.5 trenching into a HOT AC.
