They have been streaming this for over 5 years. I wish it was easier to stream on Home devices like Google or Amazon. Not sure how they are paying the bills for this. The royalty fees have got to be astronomical. I think they used to be on FM air at one time via one of the Franken FM or another low power which would have lowered their music royalty fees. There are no commercials. They are using the old Chuck Riley sound clips. I hear Greg Thunder (Original HOT97 and Hot 94.7 Chicago jock) tracking it. Has has got to be someones devotion to finance this. I read the old PD Joel Salkowitz running this in the early 2000s. Not sure if he is in on this latest iteration.
No one at Audacy has vision to look at the past and the hot status of classic hits radio. Sadly, no one from the B96 Dance days has any desire to do anything with the past except promote their own product on Facebook and other social media doing hot mixes and advertising their parties. I can't blame them. There is no money in it and the delivery cost is intense for the return rate of investment. Also, B96 is still on the air and until the Earth burns down the "Killer Bee" and "Party Radio" monikers will be retained and not used unless licensed. Only one close to it is Sal and his Facebook page: B96classics posting Youtube videos and memories.
Bottom line, it is very cool and sounds great. Great rhythmic music mix from the mid 80s to mid 90s. They made Z100 a much better station and put the whole market on notice. Also streams like these have changed my listening patterns. I rarely turn on terrestrial radio anymore. Shut me out, I shut you out. I am not losing, they are losing listenership and revenue.
