In the last three hours...
This system grew in strength today, still disorganized, but now upgraded from a 50% chance of development to a 60% chance.
It also shifted south, which went against forecasts just 23-28 hours ago, which were still calling for a southern east coast Florida landfall and a path up the east coast.
Focus is only in the last 3 hours shifting by Meteorologist for a entry into the Gulf of Mexico through the region from the southern tip of Florida to Cuba.
If this is the actual path this will go into the Gulf of Mexico, then before its over with I think this system will have the kind of intensity reminiscent of those that enter by way of the Yucatan Channel. And there is at least one track which if this storm takes, could still take it through such a path.
Regardless Meteorologists in the last 3 hours have begun focusing on a possible path to Houston, and east to Mississippi.
