In vs 20 of chapter 40, we see recorded one of the first birthday celebrations if not the first recorded in scripture, on the 3rd day, Pharaoh’ s birthday, he is having a big bash, and the butler is set free, and the baker, well too bad.
CHAPTER 41 COMMENTARY
Pharaoh is troubled by a dream of 7 fat cows coming out of the river,
then 7 skinny bag o’ bone cows eating them up, then in the same night,
he sees 7 big ol perrty, that’s perrty, not pretty, 7 big ol’ perrty
ears of corn come up, and then 7 dry ol’ cobs eat up the first 7 ears
of corn. Well, he is troubled and no one can tell him the meaning of
his dream, then that butler, he remembers his promise, and he tells
the story of his encounter with Joseph in prison. Well, Pharaoh sends
for Joseph, who interprets his dream and pharaoh is so happy, he
makes him ruler of all Egypt. Note in vs 38 Pharaoh not only sees
Joseph as a servant of God, but a man in whom the very Spirit of God
resides, he sees Joseph as a Christ. And, in essence, he is.
Underline that last sentence in vs 38, also the last sentence in vs
40. In vs 45 underline “Zaph’nath-na-a-ne’ah” Josephs new Egyptian
name, underline also in the same vs, “daughter of Potipherah Priest of
On.
In Vs 46 Underline the entire 1st sentence. Here we see Joseph is
married to a daughter of a Priest of On, one of the deities of Egypt,
later we may see significance in this to Josephs other actions.
Joseph’s wife, gives him 2 sons, and though he may suspect at this
point, we see that even Joseph still doesn’t at that point understand
the dream of his youth, as he is praising God in vs 51, of chapter 41,
and underline that last sentence, he is praising God that he has
forgotten his old life altogether.
Now while we are here, we will wrap up this segment with a discussion
of Joseph’s sons Manasseh” and Ephraim. I will leave you with a
question as well, which I will answer later in the next segment or
two.
The Name Manasseh’ literally means “Causes to Forget” and we see
Joseph named him so in that God had caused him to forget his troubled
former life.
Go to Revelations chapter 7, and read who it is that partakes in the 144,000.
It is commonly taught that 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel
are taken in that number, but that notion is a lie. The Tribe of Dan
is not even amongst them, Now Jacobs sons are, Reuben, Simeon, Levi,
Judah, all born in that order to Leah, then Dan and Naphtali born next
to Billhah the concubine of Racheal. Then Gad and Asher are born to
Zilphah, Leah’s concubine, Then Leah gives Jacob two more sons and a
daughter, Isaacher, Zebulun, and Dinah, Then Joseph and Finally
Benjamin are born.
If you read Revelations 7, The Tribe of Dan is not even mentioned.
And I had a conversation with Clive about this tonight on the phone
and he notes that Branch Davidian teachings back as far as Lois Roden
place Dan as part of the Waiv Sheaf, in Heaven at the time of
Revelation 7 and not on earth with the 144,000 as Dan is a Judge of
Israel. But how then, and this is my question, and I will answer it
for you later, but now ask of you, how then, does Manasseh become a
Tribe of Israel? I tell you, a good portion of those in Revelation 7,
and Clive notes all are, but certainly a good portion are indeed not
full Hebrews at all, but half breeds.

STUDY Aug 2009 GENESIS Chps 42 thru 45 PART 2 JOSEPH
INTRO to POST PLACED
Wednesday August 26, 2009
For you it is Wednesday a week later than my writing this post, at
least in all likelihood.
At any rate, I am re-digesting Genesis 42 through 45 as we move
forward. I really
Recommend your reading those chapters prior to this post, certainly
along with or immediately following. That is the point after all. I
would place them hear, and I have the software to do such,
but you really, need your own printed copy of the work if you don’t
have it. I find many dollar stores,
Family Dollar, Dollar General, even Dollar Tree you can get at least a
paperback copy for a buck to 5 dollars. If you want one you can make
really good notes in, one with really wide margins for
that, you can find one for 40 to 60 bucks at a Bible book store. I
have a really nice Thompson Chain Reference Bible, and it has plenty
of room for notes, but has plenty of Thompsons already in the margin.
Whatever version you get, make sure it is a King James 1611, and I
wont defend that version over others now, save to say, doing so will
at the least put us all on the same page. Trust me, it makes a
difference.
I have two copies of the Great Controversy by Ellen White. One Clive
gave me years ago, a modern up to date version. The other I found in
an small town second hand book store. They have both the same exact
size pages, both paperback, both have the same type set and font size.
The latter copy is a much older and out of print publication. It is
nearly 300 pages more in volume than the former. How then, in their
efforts to make it “easier to read” can you honestly think they didn’t
lose something in translation.
The older copy is truer to Ellen Whites original language and is more
romantic in it’s presentation, some ideas are changed and others omitted all
together, that newer work is not the work Ellen White wrote, not at
all, though they sell it as such, they should at least place the words
“CONDENSED VERSION” in the title so that reader may have a shiver of a
clue that they are not reading the original authors presentation.
I once went to a SDA church one Sabbath, and had a conversation with
the Deacon, A Deacon of that church. When presented with the idea
that the SDA has strayed from Ellen White’s original message and
really in hierarchy never accepted her in her lifetime anyway, when I
noted as proof that the work available in their bookstores wasn’t
really the work she produced, he tried to explain it off to it having
been edited, when I noted that entire ideas were lost in the edit, and
that the latter work was some 300 pages shorter than the former, he
couldn’t believe it and suggested the type size must have been smaller
in the older work or the pages smaller, he wasn’t even aware of such
drastic changes to a work which he hailed as life changing in his own
life, and when I told him he was wrong, the pages and type
were the exact same size, and still they edited out 300 pages of
content, he couldn’t believe it, I told I could prove it to him, that
I had both copies in the parking lot outside in my vehicle. I rose to
go get them, offered to not only prove the drastic removal of content
by the shear difference in the size of the volumes, but likewise to
point to examples I had found in which very ideas were lost or altered
in the translations to the new edited version. These books are
selling like hotcakes, Ellen White is the highest grossing selling
female name in History, and this guy, who hailed her a prophet, who
seen here writnings as life changing, had a chance to a more authentic
version of the truth than he possessed, and he told me “NO.” He
wouldn’t even see the works, on the one hand if he had, he would have
to admitted he was wrong, the SDA may well have been wrong, the truth
I presented him with threatened to shake his very foundations, he was
now a deacon in the SDA church, he chose status and comfort above
truth.
If you can see my very point about such a work as Ellen White’s Great
Controversy, how much mores o then should you be able to see likewise
to a work you yourself very likely hail to be the VERY WORD OF GOD?
Get yourself a King James 1611 version, so we can at least be on the
same page. Dost thou Savvy Amigo? We’ll get through it. Later in
today’s study, we’ll see a humorous situation noted, ideal for just
the very topic of addressing those who don’t think translation
matters, and while humorous and you may feel free to quote me, but be
sure you can take others through the very passage when you do,
offering such illustration can not only point to a bit of humor to
garner interest in the scriptures, but it can also serve as a prime
illustration to point the danger of paraphrase and revisions, in that
such has the potential to actually change the meanings of ideas’
altogether from that which they originally conveyed in the KJV 1611
