I grew up on steelcrest. We would do our street, mockingbird, Stratford. Westmoreland, village lane, wabash, camebridge, buenger. We would do the bird streets, (whippoorwill, snowbird, bluebird etc), It was non stop, probably start at 5 or 5:30 and go til 9:30. It was insane. I look back and think, that's too much to even walk these days. My older sister took me once. Gosh, I was complaining how heavy the pillowcase was. It's a shame how the times have changed and took that freedom away. But the trunk or treats seem to be a great time too
