Any house passing out cans of soda was a popular house! My mother made homemade popcorn balls, caramel apples and always had huge bowls of candy to give away. When we came home we had to dump our bags onto the dining room table for inspection, because there was always that story on the local news about the creepo shoving razor blades into candy.
My trick or treat days were decades ago but even back then not one single time did my parents let us go out without one of them. We hated it back then, but definitely understood it once we had our own children.
