I am not necessarily behind this man's actions for being belligerent.
The question is why it's allowed to overbook planes, taking a bet that some won't be there to take their seat.
I know they lose a lot when there are cancellations and things like that. That's where standby helps fill the plane and get more paying butts in the seats....
I have no sympathy for United though, nor AA nor Delta......because they have continually made flying so inconvenient and so expensive.
