Let me play devil's advocate for a minute. I watched Hillary tonight so I'm feeling a little froggy.
So Miss Hagnauer has agreed to meet with our newcomer. I think it is great that she is taking the time to do this. My fear is others will want the same kind of private presentation. Obviously , can't be done.
We all had the opportunity to hear Mr. Greenwald talk at a variety of meetings prior to the failed referendum. In that presentation he said emphatically that if the issue failed there WOULD BE OTHER MORE SEVERE CUTS COMING. So the people like our new poster intrigue me. Did you go to any one of the many, many presentations last year? I mean people are saying the board isn't transparent. Greenwald couldn't have been much more transparent if he had done the presentation in his boxers. He couldn't provide any more information unless he kept us all on speed dial and let us know what was going on.
In my opinion, we all get a very good opportunity to express our views to our elected officials. We can at anytime sign up to speak to the city council and school board here in Granite. I also understand that people in PB are given the opportunity to address their board without signing up in a public forum part of the agenda. We also have a little thing called elections every two years. When these candidates are elected by the majority of votes, we are telling them that we trust them to do the right thing.
So anyway, I'm looking forward to responses about these issues. If I was Miss Hagnauer my response would be, if you have any good ideas to 1.) reduce cost and 2.) save programs without inflating class size, please bring them to the meeting. I would also say, largely because I'm probably a bigger ass than her, if you don't like the decisions I make, please register next April to run for office. I would be happy to confront any newcomers to public office about their ideas because they obviously have all the answers.
