    Opie,

I called you a racist because of what you wrote in the thread about Ferguson and because your post on this thread implied that the problem was "other" as in non-white people. I agree that there is a segment of the population that is contributing more than others to the problems being faced in this town, but like machine said, I think it is a problem with a sub set of the culture that crosses racial boundary lines. I don't believe that the problem stems from just one group of "others (i.e. blacks)".

Also, I think that segregation from the 50s, 60s and before has had a far more negative impact on the black community than you give it credit for. No matter how you slice it, the average black kid in America will never have half of the opportunity in his lifetime as the average white kid in America today because the average black kid grows up in a neighborhood with worse schools and has very little chance of getting a good education compared to his white counterpart.

It doesn't matter if that kid has more access to college scholarships than the white kid, because he most likely will never be taught well enough to even make it to college. I'm not saying that bad personal choices are not also involved here, but there is much more going on than just bad personal choices that makes the odds of success much lower for a black kid than a white one. But, it doesn't seem like any of that matters to you. It's just their fault for being a "POS." Who cares that society gave them a bad hand to start with?

As for my screen name, I generally don't post much on here, so I never bothered to keep track of it.
