Fact is, nothing gets solved here. After six years of cornering, and all the gotcha moments...nothing changes, no one changes, nothing really got solved. It did not forge friendships; only created ill will to me and from me.
What good is that?
Our leaders have not the foggiest what leadership is about. There is something about leadership that has become self-serving and career oriented. People do not care about those they lead nor those whom they are entrusted to serve. It's not just a political problem, it's a corporate problem. It's rampant in your workplace (most likely) and mine.
Even people who pretend to serve the common good, are most likely corporate shills who have studied that a gesture of goodwill will help raise their public image, so they throw a bone to society and do what they have to in order to give you and me the warm and fuzzies.
Awww... we're hiring veterans and throwing $54 billion into 'made in the USA'... How charming. If that corporation would have played fair in the first place, there wouldn't be this problem. Now they are double dipping, after moving production overseas and killing competition on these shores, they are going to be good samaritans. Dare I say... #$@$ them! They don't get my money.
I digress...
But it's a case study of self-serving 'leadership'. They don't give a concern about Veterans or Americans...they know what helps their public image.
Wall street and corporate HQs across the country are stocked with such self-serving little hacks who would sell their own mother's soul to get ahead.
It goes back to the last time I came on here to post.
People do not see a greater good beyond their self-interest.
So my good friend...ElCooksta.... You are wise in realizing it.
You are wise in knowing that the way to change a world is not post about it on a message board.
Nothing is accomplished, just more bickering.
Not too long ago..I spent 80 cents at a locally owned business, that happened to be in Granite city. I needed something from that store, and didn't need anything else and was also running short on time as I was on my way to a family function.
I told the person behind the counter that I wish I had more to purchase, because this is all I need.
I thought nothing more of that visit until 3 months later (which happens to be today.)
I did more to make the world a better place by spending .80 at a business that was located in Granite City and based in GC.... than I did in six years of posting all my words here at GCG and other Granite City based discussions.
That's a fact. I only put 80 cents into action, and perhaps only a few pennies went to help Granite City.
Still, it was not talk, it was a simple action...and it did more good for Granite City, than sitting here and typing brilliant ideas, and routinely creating gotcha moments.
So ElCooksta, in a sense good for you, choosing action over words.
Maybe there's a way you can stay to talk about other things non-political or say hello from time to time.
You have seen a light greater than any liberal or conservative can lead you to see.
You have seen that posting on a message board can only do so much for making the world a better place, and often it has an opposite effect.
