JustPeachy, I have had 2 kids graduate from GCHS also, one of those also with Top Honors and another one who is a senior there this year, who is at the top of his class. Kids who are in advanced honors classes rarely have disruptions in classes. Unfortunately in the "main stream" classes there seems to be more issues and problems with disruptions. Why you may ask? Easy to figure out, kids who enjoy learning and want to learn wont disrupt classes. Kids who are in advanced classes generally don't exhibit behaviors that disrupt and cause problems. There have been and always will be fights and bullying in the cafe and outside grounds and hallways. Some kids can handle those situations and others cannot. It is the schools responsibility to make sure every child is safe and secure at all times. With all the technology out there today it shouldn't be that difficult for schools to monitor students and faculty anywhere and everywhere during the school day IMO.
