That Madison County liqueur ordinance is some interesting reading, as I slog my way through. Thank you, monkeesuncle, for posting it.
There's those video gambling machines mentioned, again. Those are not supposed to be in places that sell alcohol, either. LOL!!!!! 70.30-5.(C)
And I lost my job at a local bar many years ago for calling the cops during a big fight--maybe it wasn't the law, back then.
Nothing in the ordinance, though, about a vendor calling the law when they see an obvious drunk, or one they refused to serve, putting the keys in the ignition of his/her car and driving away. No sense of responsibility required, there, I guess.
And you can't have side by side bars within 250 feet of each other?--70.18(D)--What about Edwardsville? Or when Sammy's was across from Sportstap? I guess we never want to be like Old St.Charles, or Laclede's Landing, or Souldard.
These rules get bent plenty, already.
And, you want to serve food, too, Mark--and, your main business is the pool tables, not alcohol. Just because you would make money off of the alcohol does not make it the focal point of your existing business. No, it's crap what they are doing to you.
