Your logic is flawed. The majority of Illinois residents live too far from the border to save anything by crossing. So taxes will remain, if not increase to keep pace with inflation and the maintenance of our roads.
Remember, the gas tax is only a user-fee for our roads. The more you drive, the higher your toll, just like any other product.
