I lost my mom almost 8 years ago very suddenly as well. Christmas was always her favorite holiday and she always made if very special for us. Christmas is still very hard. I go every Christmas eve and I decorate her grave. I put as many lights as I possibly can find that run on a battery and set up a christmas tree. Last year my daughter went with me for the first time and we made it "snow" on her grave with fake snow. I'm sure the grounds keeper loved that!! This is my special way of celebrating Christmas with her. When I'm pulling away from her grave site I can see her all lit up and through my tears I smile seeing all the lights and I know that she is celebrating with me. My thoughts are with you during this time!!
