The course is 2 years, however there are some out there that can be done in a year (http://www.michener.ca/ce/postdiploma/anesth_asst.php). Our job description is vast. We insert all IV's, Art lines, and perform all intubations (neonates to adults). We relieve the anesthesiologist in rooms and give medications. We work in preop clinics assessing patients for surgery. We also work in regional block rooms and provide conscious sedation. http://www.cas.ca/members/sign_in/guidelines/practice_of_anesthesia/default.asp?load=appendix_v Is there a website that I could view to see what the difference is between the AA here and in the states. I know here in Canada we will never have CRNA. But i find there job scope amazing. Are you an AA or CRNA
