Nursing was going to be a stepping stone into becoming a midlevel pain provider with the integration of acupuncture and biomedicine but I eventually realized that FNP training was seriously lacking. But it did pay the bills and introduced me into midlevel anesthesia, so it wasn't a total wash.
As I mentioned before, I was deathly afraid that CRNA school would have some of the same horrible aspects of nursing school and that, combined with the AANA tactics, made AA school an easy decision.
