I agree that there should most definitely NOT be a salary cap on CRNAs (or any anesthesia provider). That really makes no sense. Let the market pay what it will pay.
Your year comparison is wrong though. You need to use the minimum required years or else you are comparing apples to oranges. So CRNA would be 7.25 years (4 BSN, 1 ICU, 2.25 MSN) and AA would be 6.25 (4 BS, 2.25 MS). If you want to add extra years that the average CRNA does in the ICU, then you need to add extra years that AA's have on average also.
On the whole though, I agree with your point. Number of years of schooling should not directly be used to determine earnings.
