I am not sure I follow your logic. Earlier in the post you state that a CRNA and an AA are doing the exact same thing in an ACT model and are paid equally, OK fine. Later if a CRNA is operating independantly assuming all responsability of an anesthesiologist (pre-op's, Labs, evaluation, etc. etc.) Like I do my salary should be limited to 200,000 because I did not go to school for 12 years. Well let us apply this logic here An AA has a BS in one of the hard sciences usually and follows with 2 years of an AA program While a CRNA has a BSN usually 2-3 years of critical care experiance and 28 months of CRNA school for a total of 9 years So you should be paid a third less? I think not I think AA's provide excellent care and are carfeful providers but I also feel that they are hampered in thier practice by state medical boards.
