I did say you could find your own links if you felt I cherry picked. Here is one that really drives home the silliness of your views. http://www.health.gov.on.ca/english/media/news_releases/archives/nr_07/mar/nr_20070317.html Canada which has used Anesthesiologists for years is also having an anesthesia staffing shortage. Their solution is to train Anesthesia Assistants and Nurse Practitioners--Anesthesia to be part of the total anesthesia care team. I suppose you have no problem with Canada teaching nurses how to do anesthesia but the anesthesia technicans you are totally opposed to. How about a 2007 reference from the Medical College of Central Georgia? http://www.mccg.org/crna/nurse_anesthesia_profession.asp Read the part about the current number of graduates are not enough to offset the number who are going to retire. The mean age is 48 and that is increasing despite the new graduates. And by the way, with the University of Kansas offering a masters degree program for AAs, the rest of the academic world can not be far behind. So scream all you want, keep typing your cute little "A$A" and yell about money it will not make a bit of difference. AAs are coming on board fast and by 2015 they probably will be recognized licensed providers of anesthesia care in the majority of the states. I think it is a disservice to America to have to organizations like the ASA and AANA fighting each other and in the meantime, neither is turning out enough new providers to fulfill demand. Now I think I have stated all my main points with you and you have repeatedly stated your main points to me. Do you have anything NEW to add?
