I would have to ask why an RN would go the AA route instead of the CRNA route. The CRNA route is well established, schools in most states, national recognition and more pay. The AA route is not yet established, very few schools, no national recognition and less pay. If they are the same job as some claim, the pay and nationwide job availability I would think would greatly influence the decision. Could it be this nurse applied to the CRNA programs and was not accepted? It could be all she had was a diploma or associates degree and from that standpoint, it IS more reasonable to go to AA school. Remember, as has been well noted previously by many of the AAs, not all RNs have a bachelors degree.
