Drew. Would "4 over 7" mean pre-fit weight of 4 pounds, 7 ounces, or are the numbers in some code? I have a gun with "4 over 4." I assume this would be 4 pounds, 4 ounces? Also, I think your research has indicated that "C" may refer to The Crucible Steel Company. I'm unclear whether this may be a US company or a British company. Some of your posted research indicates that there were no US manufactured barrels in that era (the testimony before the Committee re: tariffs), and that would suggest that Crucible was not a US company. Is this correct, or is it just not known for sure yet? Thanks very much for any thoughts you might have. Stanley
