    Orville, the number stamp of 3 1/4 I believe is inches for the drop at heel. To measure the DAH, put a long straight edge on the rib between the barrels so that the end comes over the top of the stock, measure the gap difference in-between. You can also stand the gun up against a wall with the barrels resting parallel and then measure the gap.

    The butt plate at this time in 1907 should have been the common one that had the serrated lines. The earlier ones had a setter with it's right paw on a rock.

    The numbers on the bottom of the barrels are I believe the weight of the barrels after being struck (filed). If Dr. Drew sees this he can confirm this as to whether after or before being struck, but I believe it is after.

    The thread size for the screw holding the hammers are 4-40.

    This would be a common hammer shotgun at this time. A Research letter could confirm the start date of production and possibly the finish date and to whom it was shipped. Most likely a hardware store as hammer guns could not be bought outright from the company.
