The first year of the Hunter Selective One-Trigger that is cataloged is 1904 but they were installed in earlier guns at least to 1901. The first year for the Non-Selective trigger is 1934, same trigger without the selector device.
The addition of the Hunter One-Trigger is appealing to a buyer, especially L.C. Smiths and does command a higher price. In other shotguns I own, I have never ever selected a barrel to use, not with the way some selectors are situated, very hard to try and do with the gun mounted. The only one that I know that is user friendly is the early Miller One Trigger with the selector on the safety slide, works like the 3-position, rear left barrel forward right barrel. I have one on a 1928 Ideal Grade.
